Who Are We …

We are located in Edmonton, Alberta and have a federally inspected, Organic Certified facility (kitchen). We send our refrigerated products across the country. The great thing is that our products have a refrigerated shelf life of 90 days. We make our product fresh and do not carry inventory. We produce to order.

Do One Thing Well …

 

We make fresh food … that’s it … nothing else. No distractions. Nothing to steal our focus. No kidding ourselves that we can be good at everything. No trying to conquer the whole world. No TV dinners, No juice, No canned soup … just fresh. We will do our best to conquer our bit of the world. Each day we will come and make the best food we know how. We will use the best ingredients from places we know … Alberta beef, fresh vegetables, clams from the east coast of Canada, fresh mushrooms from B.C. We think it’s important. There is a great deal of satisfaction to be gained from making something well. Making something of such great quality that you know people will enjoy and appreciate. It makes the hard work and obsessing over each detail worth the effort. That is our reward. No additives, no preservatives, and nothing we can’t pronounce. Just the best tasting food that time and skill will allow.

 

In Quality We Trust …

 

In the same way that fresh ingredients are the foundation of our soups, a belief in quality is the foundation for our company and has been since it began in 1996. An example of this is how we craft our borscht soup. We start off by boiling the raw beets, then we peel and slice the beets. We use fresh onions, fresh dill, fresh beet leaves and stems, and fresh potatoes. Fresh and hand-crafted soup is what it is all about … no short cuts. For us, quality is not only about using the best ingredients. Quality is also the philosophy behind everything we do, including how we look after our people, how we treat our customers, and how we conduct ourselves as people.

 

The Grand Masters …

 

Malcolm Gladwell wrote, “it takes 10,000 hours to become a Grand Master in chess. A Grand Master is someone who is capable of playing at the highest international level. In our kitchen, there are people who have spent 20,000 hours crafting soup. Their hands and eyes have been trained in the essence of making great tasting soup. Like coffee, like wine, like bread … if you start with the best ingredients, you’re way ahead of the rest. At Canyon Creek, we believe in quality and the skill it takes to make something great. We pride ourselves as being nimble and original, with a deep well of innovation.
